"Remarkably, all 1000+ depictions in the book are from original ads, archive images, or promotional material with no pictures from any auction houses or other outside sellers. The book has already settled disputes over the originality of some characteristics on certain Patek Philippe references and is unique in the world of horological literature as several of the most cited reference books are littered with fakes and redials."

"The Reference Guide to Patek Philippe watches covers 1000 models, presented in order by reference number. Per model, John documented the reference number, materials used, movement caliber, dimensions and age. Each watch is pictured in the book with a brochure or catalogue photograph. A distinction is being made between pocket watches and wrist watches, which I think is very pleasant for collectors of each (or both) type of watches. Very useful are the pictures with each watch and the overview in the back of the book, listing all movement and reference numbers."

“The Patek Philippe in America Reference Guide has changed the way I view Patek Philippe’s role in the development of the wristwatch. From the whimsical designs of the 1940s to the modern classics of the 1990s, this visual masterpiece presents the watches that are the missing links in Patek Philippe’s design history.”

“I have every book ever written about Patek Philippe and this is by far the most useful watch book I have ever owned. I can compare every watch in my collection to the factory-fresh images presented in the book and make a truly educated opinion regarding the authenticity and condition of each timepiece."
